Biography:
Tony
Humphries along with LARRY
LEVAN is considered one of the key names in the early
Garage
scene.
He got his first DJ gig in 1975 at the El Morocco club and
in 1981 he started DJing at the legendary Zanzibar club
in New Jersey. He was also the radio broadcaster for KISS-FM
NY, where his influence was immeasurable as he spread the
music to far reaching corners including England, helping
to make the Garage sound famous.
In the 90's he started residencies at Ministry of Sound in London and at Echoes in Rimini,
Italy.
Humphries has also remixed
numerous artists such as DEEE-LITE, KLF, Bananarama, The Cure, Steel Pulse, etc...
