Biography:
Brian Tappert is co-owner of Soulfuric Recordings and Traxsource.com.
He also records together with his partner Marc Pomeroy under
the monikers of "Urban Blues Project" and “Jazz-N-Groove”,
as well “Cleptomaniacs” with DJ John Julius
Knight. Brian has contributed to House Music in many ways
for almost 2 decades.
Originally from NJ, Brian started Djing
in 1984, finding his love for soulful sounds through Tony
Humphries radio show on 98.7 Kiss FM. As the late 80's exploded
with the fresh new sounds of House Music, his passion grew
to an obsession and he's never looked back.
Making his way into production gradually
in the early 90's, Brian fused his DJ experiences with his
love for soulfully crafted songs and melody with the result
being Jazz-N-Groove Productions. Together with Roy Grant
(until -1995) and then with Marc Pomeroy, J-N-G produced
many notable recordings and remixes. Respected today as
one of the hottest remix teams in house, Jazz-N-Groove has
remixed everyone from Lolita Holloway to Sounds of Blackness
to Frankie Knuckles.
As a producer, Brian's collaborations with
partner Marc Pomeroy under the "Urban Blues Project"
moniker have become some of the most celebrated house classics
known to man. Recordings such as Michael Procter's "Deliver
Me", “Love Don’t Live”, and Donna
Allen "He is the Joy" (to name a few) have stood
the test of time and are considered classics up to this
present day some 10 years after release.
You can catch Brian Djing from Ibiza to
NYC in some of the world’s hottest venues such as
Ministry of Sound, The End, Pacha, Kaufluten, Escape Club,
Cielo and Deep to name a few. Fusing the old with the new,
Brian's strength lies in his programming ability, proving
time and time again there's much more to Djing than mixing
records.
Over the years, Brian has developed into
a world class master of working a crowd. His performance
has to be experienced in the club to get a true sense of
the magic that is delivered. Brian Tappert is the living
definition of the word perfectionist…
